The Alexander Cameron KC Criminal Mock Trial

What is the competition?

The Alexander Cameron KC Criminal Mock Trial competition is an event sponsored by Three Raymonds Building (3RB), 5 King's Bench Walk (5KBW) and has been named after Alexander Cameron KC. You can read the tribute to Alexander here

This is a 3 round, knock out competition. 

Who can take part?

You must be an Inner Temple member who has been called to the Bar in the past 5 years but have not yet obtained pupillage
 
You cannot take part if you were one of the 12 competitors in the competition in January 2024.
 
Space is limited and application entries will be capped (see below).

Key dates for the competition.

If you intend on signing up, you must be available on the following dates between 6.30-8pm:

  • Training Session/Competition briefing - Tuesday 7 January (online)
  • Round 1 of the competition - Tuesday 14 January (online)
  • Round 2 of the competition - Tuesday 21 January (online)
  • Final round at the Old Bailey - Tuesday 28 January (in-person, London)

Those who secure a place on the competition, but are unsuccessful from previous rounds will still take part in the competition by playing witnesses in the following round. This will give you the opportunity to observe some more advocacy. 

What are the prizes?

The winner receives a large monetary prize, 1-2-1 mentoring and mini pupillage. The runner up receives a monetary prize and mini pupillage.

The competition finishes in time for you to add the experience to your CV and pupillage applications.

How do you apply?

DEADLINE: MIDDAY (12 NOON) on MONDAY 9 DECEMBER 2024. However, we will cap the number of entries at 65.
 
If we receive 65 applications before the deadline, the form will automatically close and no longer accept any additional applications. Therefore, you should consider applying as soon as possible.
