Master Pehr Gyllenhammar (Dr Pehr Gyllenhammar) died on 21 November 2024, aged, 89.
Master Pehr Gyllenhammar
Master Gyllenhammar was Volvo chair and Chief Executive Officer between 1970-1994. After Volvo, Master Gyllenhammar was for many years a board professional, including in Kinnevik, the news agency Reuters, the investment bank Rothschild Europe, and the British insurance company Commercial Union (now Aviva). A key figure in equestrian sports, he founded FEI Jumping World Cup series and championed Volvo's sponsoring of global competitions.
Master Gyllenhammar was elected an Honorary Bencher of the Inn in 2001. He is survived by his wife Lee Welton Croll PhD.
The Inn's flag was flown at half-mast in his memory on Thursday 9 January 2025.
